My sweet sweet Gigi died last night. He was only with us for 4 years when his little heart gave up. Now go and catch mice in your next life little guy. And remember: live snacks are eaten outside.

Recently read: Maysa & Musa book 1 by Zanib Mian, with illustrations by Kian Cheng. This fun read is perfect for my 3rd graders; the protagonists are relatable & we learn a lot about islam and the rituals surrounding Ramadan without becoming pedantic.

It was sunny out. My cats ask for lots of strokes when they feel like it. Chiapa can be a little terrorist when he wants his food in the morning, but in the afternoon I get this: (don’t know where his brother is by then, probably lurking in a neighbour’s garden)

Finally finished. Read it. It weaves so many threads together n a multicoloured tapestry, as we all weave our lives and our communities together. It is a great novel.
