The Other Frances
I have no delusions that my grandparents would have understood or condoned my transness, but in the wake of their deaths, I found myself longing for their patient non-judgement.

Listen, did you ever had a bad boss, a terrible person, at a job that you can't, for whatever reason, quit? Did you learn to delay, obfuscate, frustrate, and otherwise fuck up that person just to the line where you could keep your job? Congratulations, you have the tools to resist authoritarianism!
It’s important to remember that resisting takes many forms—including throwing sand in the gears and just not… rolling over in advance—and they’re all needed and useful.
“Saying “No, it’s over! Don’t be so naive!” [is] really just rolling out a red carpet, the ultimate capitulation in advance. At the very least, put him to the task. Make him execute on what he’s trying to do. That’s the first role of a political opposition.” 👇

Anyone who wants to keep politics out of art is a fascist who seeks to keep everyone else’s politics out of art and/or a dilettante who understands neither politics nor art.

I am certainly not the only person who made this observation but it is so unbelievably funny to me that the Department of Government Efficiency has two chairs. Does not seem very efficient.

Are you really an introvert or have you just bought into the idea of radical individualism and have developed rejection sensitivity?
