I'd have the selection process involve a jury like in trials, then there is democratic accountability to the process.

It also wouldn't be a status awarded to a person it would be an interview. You apply for a policy area and prove you are suited for the job.

On term expiry you repeat this process.

I find I routinely have to change between using WiFi and using data to get the app to work on my android phone; only app that I have to do that for. It's a pain yes but it's also just a weird problem to have.

In addition, blaming a lack of productivity on phones and completely ignoring the infamous financial crash that also matches up with this graph is a bit rich.

I missed this at the time, that sentence is maddening. At some point the UK gov ought to realise that these groups should've transitioned away from terror two decades ago already, but I suppose they find it politically convenient/easier not to, right-wing British terror being 'tolerable' of course.

With the amount of gov bodies providing various kinds of police oversight in NI (for this exact reason) how do they get away with this? It reflects how wide an institutional issue a lax attitude to loyalist gangs is. Money's spent yearly on ads detering paramilitarism yet nothing's done in reality.

When I was writing essays for university I found that I could only effectively write, in the morning until about 12pm and later at night from about 9pm onwards.

I could do hundreds of words during those hours and none at all during midway.

No idea why my brain is like that but your not alone.

I've been waiting for an affordable VR headset that can run games natively (that also isn't a meta product) for a long time now.

Assuming the price of the frame is appropriate I might finally jump on the VR band wagon!

I haven't watched the video yet (but I will I've just been busy with back to back shifts in work!).

A livestream sounds fun regardless though! I'd definitely watch if I'm able!

I struggle to find tracks I haven't heard before on Spotify. Even my Discovery Weekly is just different versions of songs already in my (or Spotifys) playlists.

With rock it recommends all the dad rock classics that I already know.

I've actually gone back to local radio as a way to find new music.

I'm not saying that Long couldn't be doing more, but the operational practices of the police is not her responsibility. With the way police devolution worked out she isn't allowed to 'step on the toes' of the other bodies with responsibility over the police. In this case it is the Policing Board.

I doubt anyone in 1910 seriously though the Liberal Party would one day be destroyed and Labour would emerge as a massive force in UK politics for the next more-than-a-century.

I think America's rapid descent into fascism has made some figures in the UK realise how imperative it is to stamp out the far right before it ends up in a position of strength.

Of course I say some, because somehow the U.K government doesn't seem to realise this.

The politeness is meant to prevent political disagreement from turning into insult flinging.

But, that only works as a policy when business is already conducted on a basis of respect for all members.

The speaker had power here but didn't respect a member, so 'politeness' just became his weapon.
