One of the most inhumane jobs in media is so called news monitoring. You sit in front of numerous newswires and try to fish out of this chaos something relevant for your outlet. It’s easy to outsource it to
AI, but looks like nobody actually did it!

So that’s what I’m building now

If somebody told me 20 years ago that my band would have a record deal with small but beloved Londob indie label… like, wow.

This whole Starmer-Farage fuckery reminds me of Clinton-Trump elections, and Starmer’s ‘they’re racists’ rhetoric is literally Hillary’s deplorables (one of the reasons why she lost). But fortunately Britain isn’t the States, there are no GE in sight, and Farage is just a poundland Trump

I really need to open this app more often, it makes me sane while twitter is full of rage bait, and some of my friends there fall fo it easily. unfortunately, I still need twitter for work

the funniest thing about British politics nowadays is that nobody cares about what actually happens with migration. As soon as Labour understand that they don't have to fix real issues cause there's not a lot to fix, and will treat it as a PR competition, they have a chance to win

I guess it’a wise to decide to have kids before your parents die of old age, cause it’s such a turn off

the fact that I can't see my father who has terminal stage cancer is a thing that I enjoy the least at the moment.

cool and simple article about validation in Python that basically comes to the simple suggestion: use Pydantic

What "Parse, don't validate" means in Python?

I'm deep into Divinity 2 as the second Switch finally is able to run it smoothly, and omg it's such a joy. To be honest, even better than BG3 cause I still think D&D doesn't really translates to video games as an RPG system

Switch 2 is cool but feels like an upgrade, not something entirely new. Not a ps4to ps5 situation at all, and there are not enough games to justify the upgrade. I’m happy with it cause I love switch and but wouldn’t rush to buy if I were you

Very good article about dangers of AI search. Tl;DR: when there’s no reward in writing for web, there’s no new information to search for

People will find a solution, but the web will dry out. Maybe it’s for good
AI is remaking — and breaking — the web
As browsers evolve to keep up with the chatbots, the incentives for human contributions are fading..

People always choose what’s more convenient. Hate AI search as much as you want (I hate it, it makes my work unbearable), but that’s the difference between ai result and the top rated link

Fucking hell

I love software development. There’s a popular FastAPI template with everything included. Seven months ago it introduced a feature that broke migrations (they don’t copy from container to local file tree), there’s nothing in the readme, the fix is ungoogleable, if you know, then you know…
