we might just have to agree to disagree, but the vigil brought a lot of positive attention to the real issues of the industry and was great energy, so i think it was a success overall

idk i don't see it like that at all. i see it as an appropriately inflammatory statement that calls people to action, especially in the context of the game awards. i feel like that's been pretty clear to most people who see it, excepting you and one other person

it is not a literal "all of the games industry died"

some unknown proportion of the 40k jobs lost in the last 3 years has resulted in people needing to leave the industry, maybe permanently

that is, arguably, a death of a kind

in addition to people's projects and studios being closed, something much more akin to a death
