C is for Cinderella Stories!
Cinderella stories are the reason I fell in love with Korean storytelling, and arguably the reason that love has persisted so long. Class divides, reversals of fortune, the power of kindness - it never gets dull!

Eun-jo - played with this raw, angry, intense vulnerability by Moon Geun-young in her best performance - is a one-of-a-kind heroine. Flaws and all, she's stuck with me as one of the most interesting women in dramaland.

I hate how much I still think about this dirty and manipulative drama, because it honestly doesn't deserve it. But the first three episodes offer up one of the most tender, joyous, heartbreaking, unforgettable depictions of young love.
Reunite Yeo Jin-gu and Kim Soo-hyun please!!

Everyone but me has forgotten Orange Marmalade, but beneath the poor-execution and baffling story choices, there's an excellent story about fighting bigotry, and a killer soundtrack to boot. I rewatch it a lot, to be honest.

On the surface, I'd say this has stuck with me because it introduced me to the brilliance of Yook Sung-jae (and BTOB, the only k-pop group I follow). On a deeper level, I'd say it tore out my heart by mercilessly killing my OTP and taught me that love is best in moderation 😂

I didn't care about Shining Inheritance much at first. But then I watched it again, and again, and somewhere along the way it became my favourite drama. The unparalleled character arc of the hero and the slow burn romance just stuck with me, what more can I say?
