I think this move might have been motivated by a sincere hope that certain actors in CHP would hand over Imamoglu to AKP, but the public reaction forced these certain actors to change their play. I started to think he can actually be released in few days.

Global framework and the pacifization of Kurdish political movement definitely provided perfect timing for this operation, but govt. does not seem to be very determined to imprison Imamoglu. Instead, they seem to choose observing the general picture for a couple days and make their next move.

How can the regime change completely all of a sudden while the most watched TV channels and news outlets are pro-opposition? My feeling is that elemination of Imamoglu was not solely an AKP project and had a serious support from CHP and other opposition parties.

Guinea fowls have three names in Turkish: most popularly beç tavuğu (Viennese chicken), İran tavuğu (Persian chicken) and Tokat (a city in Turkey) tavuğu. The deeper you go, the weirder it gets.

I also support changing turkey bird's name to Türkiye!

This pretty much explains the issue. However, IMO, çulluk doesn't look like turkey. This is why some linguists believe it wasn't 'çulluk' that was known as Turkey bird, but it was guinea fowls.

from West Indies, as it was known as Hind-i Garbî. French also called it 'dinde'. Portuguese called it 'peru' probably because they first encountered it in South America. In Arabic it's known as Roman maybe because they called çulluk 'dīk rūmī'? Rūm (Roma) referred to the Asia minor for a long time

similar to Turkey, which is known as 'çulluk' in Turkish. This bird was already famous in Europe as 'turkey bird' because it was coming from Asia minor. Colonialist thought the North American bird was 'çulluk' and continued to call it turkey bird. In Turkish, it's called hindî because it was coming+

What's even more complicated is the bird called hindî (Indian) in Turkish, 'peru' in Portuguese, 'الديك الرومي' (the roaster of Rūm/Roman) in Arabic, and as 'Ethiopian bird' in some others. What's up with this bird? Tekin said European arriving to Americas confused the turkey with another bird +

As he writes, once Giancarlo Casale asked the famous Turkish linguist Şinasi Tekin about the etymology of turkey. It isn't weird to call a bird with a country's name, but as well known, turkey is endemic North American. If there was no turkey in Turkey, why the bird was named after Turkey?

However, after the May 14th elections, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu explicitly said people living in rural areas of the country are still watching TRT (Turkish public TV channel), which is why they voted for Erdoğan. I really want to see real studies in this regard.

I wasn't aware of this list, now a huge responsibility falls upon I guess.

We should all go to somewhere sunny. Let humans migrate like birds now!

I understand that in some places this is inescapable in winter. You have to wake up and leave your home before sunrise is total modern capitalist bulshit. The night didn't end man, keep it cool.
