Call up the senators voting to end the shutdown and lecture them about "fighting united" if that's such a priority to you.
There is no reason to believe the current Democratic leadership will be any more united fighting in December. We just saw this leadership fall apart.

I was surprised about it as well when I found it. That's another reason why (while I do advise *having* a Substar account) I don't hold anything against keeping a Patreon account active for a while.

But..... it is the case that art supporters generally consolidate on platforms that are dangerous for artists to be on, which does make this harder.

This is also maybe a gentle suggestion for subscribers as well.
In some (not all but some) cases, Subscribestar literally has lower platform fees than Patreon. The vast majority of supporters use Patreon though. If more subscribers moved to Subscribestar, it would be helpful to artists.

I think there's totally valid reasons why an artist might choose to be on Patreon. Audience side, platform support, etc.. I 10000% understand that.

And there are a lot of artists I think are amazing artists who are fantastic members of the community doing great work and I love what they're doing - and I think they are going to get bitten by this.
It's not my place to say, but.. I really think vore artists should be making Substar accounts now.

I fully 100% believe that Patreon is going to start coming after unwilling vore eventually - especially in instances where that vore has a sexual component.
And I fully believe that even Patreon artists who draw willing/endo vore are going to have to prove it's willing.
