Jazz OTD: On January 6, 1961, saxophone sparring partners Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis and Johnny Griffin teamed up for three sets at the legendary Minton's Playhouse in New York. Davis's bluesy sense of melody and structure fits extremely well with Griffin's limitless technique and pyrotechnics. #jazzsky
