When Freddy Gray was killed, Prince held a Rally for Peace. During Purple Rain, he paused to say, "The system is broken... we need new ideas, we need new life. Most of all, we need new peace... I love each and every one of you." He sang of ownership, and of love. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ku3O...

If this administration has taught us anything, it’s that wealth has no correlation with intelligence.

No, Exhibit A is Trump getting resoundingly booed and middle fingered at the football game last night. FFS what is wrong with these people??

Right. A deal to enforce a law that is already a law (back pay for Feds). Make that make sense. All this pain for nothing. You have lost all credibility. Just disgusting.

Hold the line! Please! I’m a civil servant and want to get back to work but I fear what will happen if the administration isn’t forced to make a meaningful compromise on something - anything - now.

As someone involved in govt acquisitions, I can confirm that everything in Part 2, section 3 on soft impoundment is what we’ve been living through since March.

Having the donations go to the Trust for the National Mall seems proper, that’s a good sign I think that someone somewhere is trying to go by the rules when they can

Full disclosure, I’m an acquisitions specialist so much more familiar with the practical application than the nuances of the law

The ADA exists to prevent the executive branch from making financial obligations before those obligations are approved by Congress. I’m not a lawyer, but I think the donation itself isn’t the issue, it’s accepting and using the donation that violates the ADA. Any lawyers out there that can confirm?
