You can and should have fond memories of things, but the moment you allow yourself to dawdle in the past at the hinderance of moving forward with your actual life is the moment you’ve become crippled by nostalgia

You have to move forward. You cannot allow yourself to cling to an idealized past that you’ve concocted in your mind. Things have never been and never will be so simplified in binary “good vs bad” terms like nostalgia produces. Those days you miss? There were plenty of moments in them that stunk too
