I like this place --- #Bluesky. It's been three whole days that I've been here, and I haven't even once felt the urge to throttle anyone. Quite the opposite, in fact. I've alternated between smiling widely, nodding thoughtfully, and going "aww", randomly.

This is good. It's very, very good.
Doughnuts, anyone? 🍩

Please, my dear God...please, let sanity prevail. Please, don't allow the current stupidity regarding the imposition of Governor's Rule in KPK to degenerate into a repetition of the electoral injustice and social rifts that were witnessed in Pakistan, over 50 years ago.

Hon'ble President, and dear Prime Minister,
Your support to the inalienable right of self-determination of the people of Gaza rings woefully hollow, when you were guilty of violating that very right in respect of your own countrymen, just a couple of days ago.
President, PM reiterate support for Palestinians’ right to self-determination on solidarity day
UN continues to stand in solidarity with Palestinians, chief Antonio Guterres says as Israel's onslaught in Gaza continues.

Police force, Counter-terrorist force, Elite force, Dolphin force, Levies force, Frontier Constabulary force, Paramilitary force, and now this; a specifically trained and equipped Anti-riot force.

That's a whole lot of force(s) being used internally, within Pakistan's borders.

This most-disliked Govt in the history of our country --- that treats its own people who dare raise their voices, as if they were hardened criminals and terrorists --- is the Govt that we neither deserve, nor desire.

It's quite obvious; they should be called "bleats".
Do we have a Bluesky equivalent to "Tweet"?
If not, can we call them bloops? I just think it's fun to say.

What comes after "The Final Call" to protest for one's rights? "The Truly-Absolutely-Utterly-Wholly-Unequivocally-Irreversibly, No-Kidding-This-Time, Honest-to-Goodness Final Call?"

Lockdowns from a deadly influenza contagion (Covid): once in several generations.

Lockdowns (physical, legal, technological, informational, intellectual) as result of the government's absolute cluelessness as to how it might deal with widespread discontent: every damned day.

With hundreds of thousands of supporters on the march to secure the release of Imran Khan and other political prisoners, I have to ask: is this Tarar goof...
a) Naturally dim?
b) A sasta-nasha addict?
c) Suffering from panic-induced delusion?
d) All of the above?

Thank you for belatedly getting in touch with your conscience, Dr. Lodhi. Up until this article, you were quite blissfully unaware --- or ignorant --- or willfully negligent --- of its voice.

The audacity. The President who oversaw the worst incidents of women being incarcerated, tortured, and persecuted, offers meaningless noises that're meant to offer women "support", on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Despite the regime's best efforts to paint protestors and agitators as "anti-state", the "state" and the "govt" are quite different.

Loyalty to the state of Pakistan? Always.
Loyalty to the Govt? Only when it deserves it. The current bunch of crooks, do not deserve it.

Simple.

To the current Govt: stop trying to tell us that what you're doing --- internet bans, VPN bans, constitutional amendments, restrictions on movement, curbing protest and assembly, muzzling dissent, and arrest of citizens --- is for our good.

We're aware of who the actual beneficiaries are.

Writing a screenplay. A billionaire creates an AI named Grok; who becomes self-aware and travels back in time from the future, to tell him he's overweight, builds horrible looking cars, and should never jump up and down in public. Ridiculously un-funny dialogue ensues.

Any takers, #Bluesky?

Why did the US stop building cars like these? And how on earth does Elon Musk get away with foisting off the most boring, most unreliable cars in the world, on us?

This is a mid-1956 SKS. Famous for being the forerunner of - and supplanted by - the legendary Kalashnikov.

The gun was previously modified (by me) with a walnut stock, and metal parts were chromed. Currently, sanded down to a bare finish.

Next up: an olive-green #DIY wood stain.

Phantom. Based on a 1984 Toyota FJ40. Driven by modern mechanicals and 44 inch tyres (on 20 inch wheels). Toyota never actually built a 4 door cabin variant of this particular model. Everything rear of the front doors (and most of the front, admittedly) is hand-built.

Told you. Car pics.

Sleipnir. A two seater, open-top roadster, powered, driven, steered, and stopped, using modern mechanicals. And it's purple. 💜

First post. Fairly appropriate on a site titled "Bluesky". And also, I love how it provides just the right sort of perspective on how insignificant one human is --- or a bunch of humans are --- in the grand scheme of the universe.
Fun Fact:

If the sun was scaled to the size of basketball; Mercury would be the size of a grain of sand 33 feet away, Earth would be the size of a BB 86 feet away, Jupiter would be the size of a gum ball 445 feet away.

The nearest star would 5,000 miles away.
