I harvested my first tomatoes yesterday. Martino's Roma Tomatoes which I grew from seed. They're the only thing that I sprouted that's thrived. I cooked them in the air fryer and I'm working on saving their seeds. This is all a new experience for me and it's so exhilarating.

Can you spot the bee on the coneflower?
I spotted a firefly hanging around too.
There was a bumblebee but he bumbled away before I got a picture.
Not as many pollinators this year but some.

None of the sunflowers I planted sprouted so imagine my delight when these sprouted from seeds the birds dropped at the bird feeder.

We haven't had a dry day in over a month. My chaos garden is extra chaotic for it. My beans and potatoes have drowned and my herbs are tiny and yellowed. But one tomato plant is thriving, a squash is still hanging on, and there are lush green things all around. #chaosgardening

We don't have a truck to tow it yet so it's getting delivered next week. I'm so excited to have a camping spot. 🏕️

I've been out hilling my potatoes. I've never done this before because I've never grown potatoes so I hope I'm doing it right. I wore a face mask 😷 because our pollen count is over 11,000 today and everything is yellow. #backyardhomestead #whatimgrowing #potatoes

My strawberries are really doing well so far this year. 🍓 This is my third year with them and each year they're stronger and flowering earlier. I also planted two raspberry bushes this year. They were $3.99 each at Aldi and I couldn't pass them up. Hoping for success with them as well. 🤞

Today's cookery included making banana bread cookies for the first time (which were 100% winners even though they looked nothing like the recipe pictures). Next time I make these cookies, I'll refrigerate the dough a little while to firm up.
