#iOS 26.3 beta 3 has mentions of "SupportsE2EE" for #rcs in the carrier bundles, so looks like work is being done on some end-to-end encrypted version of the Universal Profile.

Wonder if the #apple Developer portal will ever decide whether it wants to support #passkey auth or not. Right now it's in a "no" state.

Hm, just me, or Action button on #iOS 26 sometimes doesn't work when the device is in sleeping/locked state? Have to wake up the phone in order for it to react to it. Mine's set to the Camera up, if it matters.

It's 2026.

Almost 20 years ago I used Asterisk setups configured by @IndianaTux and it worked great.

But now?

EVERY

I EVER HAVE TO CALL

Why does everyone have a phone system that sounds like it's VoIP over a 28.8k link? Especially now that cellular to cellular calls sound way […]

Directly downloading IPSW firmware images from #apple tops out at about 7 MB/s, but fluctuates a lot. Through #cloudflare Warp it goes up to 70 MB/s. Something's really fishy here.

Some nice additions in #opus 1.6: bandwidth extension for speech, 96 kHz.

Also, was wondering for a while what prevents us from doing spectrum extension on narrowband audio (ubiquitous in telephony). They're absolutely right, if humans have a hard time telling "S" and "F" apart in narrowband […]

GitHub Actions charging per build minute for *self-hosted-runners*? Shit's about to hit the fan lol

Anyone using #github Actions, they're changing the pricing model. Most importantly, they'll charge for self-hosted runners!

Seeing what it takes for #vowifi to work, all the different things the phone talks to, IPsec to EPDG, IPsec to P-CSCF, AKA auth everywhere, SIP for call establishment and sending SMS messages. There's so many moving parts in modern mobile network! Big respect to those who understand how that all […]

RE: https://infosec.exchange/@malwaretech/115702704948762818

Nowadays I blame either the adblocker or the target service for outages. I am quite lucky to have a pretty stable internet connection, and if that fails, mobile hotspot through a different carrier.

I often forget you can send MMS messages to an e-mail address. Don't know why one would do it nowadays, but I suppose it could be convenient occasionally. Can't reply back to them though.

With the shutdown of #3g and most of #2g in #sweden, I lost the ability to make phone calls on my roaming SIM card altogether. Not that I do it much, very rarely in fact, but would be cool to be able to do it.

My carrier seems to have an ePDG, so #vowifi could be an option. And then I found out […]

Quite spot on with #macos, but honestly just as well with most tech out there today. Error messages are hidden, "tech support" is utterly clueless most of the time
