The dream is retirement to a cabin on the side of a Yukon mountain, but I get by on books, music and an occasional video game.
I don't take the "protecting our culture" crowd seriously. It tends to code for xenophobia. Our culture didn't develop in a vacuum. It developed through an ongoing interplay and exchange with others. We are where we are now because of this exchange, and we will only stagnate without it.

I think that the analytical part of my brain is so busy trying to work out the math behind using a mammogram to test for prostate cancer that it's saving me from giving full consideration to the idea of putting my testicles into it.

Found it at my local used bookstore while on a search for anything that looked like an interesting read. I love going into that place and just perusing until I find something great. Unexpected reads are my favourite, no matter the topic or genre.

Physical copies of everything, please. Once a month, I spend a day rifling through bins full of old records at a secondhand music shop and staring at shelves in my favourite second hand book stores. It's my form of meditation.
