The dream is retirement to a cabin on the side of a Yukon mountain, but I get by on books, music and an occasional video game.
I was in my backyard berating my maple tree for not giving me fall colour when I saw the neighbour's kid pointing his phone at me and giggling. I don't know what's sadder, the fact I'm on my way to becoming fodder for TikTok or the fact that this kid isn't getting any candy from me this Halloween.

After swearing off of social media a few years ago because of all the crap, a friend told me this place was refreshing and full of cool folks. Seems she was right, and now I'm here to stay. My faith in the internet is restored.
