This is your sign to subscribe to Wired, because this is now the greatest thing I own. Sorry, it's literally November and storming out so this is the best lighting you're gonna get.

Haley Newlin's THE FILM YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE is now out and available! I watched all the classic horror films that she listed in the fictional film marathon her characters go to in the book. See my thoughts on them all below! I loved Haley's book and highly recommend it for Halloween tbrs 🍿🎬🖤

I've taken up stress knitting (again). Swatching for gauge with this mohair for a light sweater blouse situation. Obsessed with this green 😍

Ok. Alison either was in the Park school or knows someone who was. This is far too niche insider knowledge. My Golden Doorknob submission was...not great lol but in our defense, I don't think that my friend Carlos and I had much time to work on it. We were all stretched thin.

The ending of CURSE OF THE DEMON was fantastic! We're finally at the end, and I'm probably going to fall asleep during this one because I'm on meds, but we're closing with an all-time favorite of mine...THE BLOB (1958) 🖤 This has made my convalescence so much better!

Ok, that was SO FUN!!! It's going to be tough to pick my favorite of the bunch. I'll have to think about it. Second to last is CURSE OF THE DEMON (1957).

I honestly don't know which I enjoyed better, CAT PEOPLE or THOHH! I think I'm sticking w/CAT PEOPLE as my current favorite. Had a break for an early dinner & more puttering, but we're back in it! Three down, three to go! Moving on to HOUSE OF WAX (1953). This is my first time watching the original.

Took a little break to putter (hobble) around my house. Can't rot in bed the whole time 💀 If I were doing a bracket, I'd say CAT PEOPLE bumps out THE TINGLER for me (but I really enjoyed them both). Next up is THE HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (1959). This is a rewatch for me. Such a delightful, goofy film!

Next up is CAT PEOPLE (1942)

I finished @haleynewlin.bsky.social's THE FILM YOU'RE ABOUT TO SEE while on our cabin trip, & I absolutely loved it (made me cry)! Since I gave myself a dumb injury while on that trip & am kind of bed ridden, I've decided to recreate the movie marathon from the book. First up, THE TINGLER (1958)!

These are the extremely expensive shoes in question. I ordered them before destroying my toe on a challenging hike, and now I cannot wear them. So now I get to just look at them.

Today is my husband's birthday! Here he is at his cousin's house a few weeks ago holding a very cool duck. The duck demanded to be held by Mark for a very long time. He's a hero of ducks. You can see the sacrifice on his face. Happy birthday @marb.bsky.social 🎉🦆

This is my first yr growing banana peppers, I'm not super confident in when they should be harvested, so I sent these pictures to my sister (who is a horticulturist and grows a lot of her own produce in her fire escape in Brooklyn), and her response was far more enthusiastic than I was expecting 😂

I got to swim in a kettle pond in the Finger Lakes this past weekend (at my aunt's cute little cabin), and while I got painfully sunburnt I do feel like part of my soul returned. It's hard to not feel refreshed when visiting your childhood home feels like this (photo by my sister).

I'll be putting together a comprehensive list of places to go in Pittsburgh for #StokerCon2026, but if yinz are down to take a car, the Goldmark in Lawrenceville is just fantastic.

I'm very glad I took time off this week to recover from #StokerCon. It thoroughly wore me out in the best way possible 🖤 Gonna post more pics in replies 👻
