Great article m, but your reflection on the university’s response missed out bureaucratic behaviour, which does “working towards” (ie tries to anticipate) political decisions. The best explanation for it I’ve found is Niskanen’s rational choice theory.

The WHO used to distinguish disability (the impairment) and handicap (how the impairment was magnified by the environment). Denying the existence of impairment is dangerous, as it claims all can pay their way in an accepting & supportive society & benefits become investments with expected returns.

A simpler suggestion. Authoritarian & Democratic states are both more stable than mixed ones. So, once a shift starts it can accelerate. However, if this is an 🇺🇸 subtweet then I don’t believe this process would be happening without the Trump-Putin relationship.

This shows antisemitism is being used as some kind of stalking horse. I fully expect the Jews, as cosmopolitans, to be targeted by the Right once the Left stops demonising them(us).
