"You can always edit it later" is the saving grace of all my first drafts.
Words on a page first. Everything else afterwards.

I know the feeling.
I've spent a long time knowing something had to be written but unable to start.
Following momentary inspirations and jotting them down and then returning to them has helped me.
Specifically for the short stories, but also for my novel.

I've actually never used scrivener. I'll have to give it a look.
I think you're correct.
I need to ensure both needs are to attended to without neglecting either.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. I've had moments of pure inspiration where not writing the idea was unthinkable. The novel is similar, but I think it'd be too time consuming to focus only on that.
Particularly as I have so many other stories to write.
