To be fair, LLMs could be applied to similarly virtuous uses, they're just tools and most tools are morally neutral. The problem is that a) people aren't using the tools virtuously and b) the tools weren't built virtuously, because c) capitalism ruins everything it touches.

I've found exactly one ever, and it was living in this hollow dead tree in Northern Nevada. Only chanced on it because a friend accidentally disturbed its home. It was pure luck, I have no advice to give.

Yeah but you and I both know that when that small county runs short of money they'll choose to fund the police and cut social programs instead. Their bad behavior never hurts them, and in many cases actually rewards them directly.

Oh is every textbook suddenly available as an audiobook? What's that? It takes a huge amount of labor and effort at great cost to create one when a piece of software can do an adequate job of reading a pdf to you?

I never said any of that? They're tools. I don't like how they were made and they have flaws like all tools, but they're tools and we have them now and we'd be fools not to use them for the things they actually do well where there are no ethical concerns.

Now I know you don't know what you're talking about. Language is literally the only thing LLMs do well. 99% of the idiocy I see is people trying to make a language model do math or use logic when all it actually knows is language.
