When you wake up and the lyrics to the Wild CATS animated series are stuck in your head.

Dropping tomorrow… @apleyland.bsky.social & I talk about The Joker series that is totally a Jim Gordon story but is still called The Joker.

My only real exposure to Steve Englehart’s writing until recently was his Batman run (which is phenomenal) and his Green Lantern work (which is a bit wonky as it goes on).

Having now read a selection of his seventies Marvel work…y’all…I am now a fan.

Bought this shirt last night and then conversation with Rachel.

Me: We were all issued that when I was a teenager.

Her: The shirt?

Me: No, Spider-Man #1. Everyone had it. It’s like that gag from Wayne’s about Frampton Comes Alive. If you were buying comics in 1990 you had this book.

The pilot aired 48 years ago today. It still holds up today.

Still need to devote more energy to talking about this show. 2/2

One of those “it’s impossible to adequately measure how much this show means to me and how much of an impact it has on my love of superheroes in general and the Hulk specifically” is the Incredible Hulk television series that ran from 1977 to 1982. 1/

I shouldn’t be as annoyed that Icons Unearthed: Marvel for ignoring the 1982 animated Hulk series and saying that the 1996 series was Fox Kids when it was on UPN.

I shouldn’t be. But I am.

I’ve been looking for my calendar for next year and zeroed in on this one.

In 1976 Marvel put out a calendar to celebrate the bicentennial. They’re putting it out again for next year and it feels right to get it given we’re both turning 50.

Excited for this one.

The original Defenders run (issues 1-152 and the stuff that led into it) is actually just a D and D campaign played by the heroes of the Marvel Universe. Especially the Steve Gerber run.

I will not be taking any questions at this time.

I would like to nominate Golden Phararoh for Most Useless Member ever.

I assume he is not an away team member if that energy needs to be recharged by the pyramids once every 24 hours.

Seriously. We could have gotten characters that are…you know…not useless?

Just wrapped up the December episodes of Overlooked with @apleyland.bsky.social and I can’t wait for y’all to hear them. We discuss three issues of Ed Brubaker’s Batman run as well as Batman/Huntress: Cry for Blood & Batman: Death and the Maidens by @gregrucka.com

…but when things settle down I plan on filling that out more. It’s the one toy line from my youth that I want to try and get as complete a collection as I can.

Except for Captain Marvel. Because that’s just way too expensive. 2/2

Modern science has yet to create a device that can measure exactly how important the Super Powers toy line is to me as a fan of both super heroes and as a DC Comics fan.

I have a pretty decent assortment of figures and vehicles in my collection (all boxed up at the moment)…1/

We are in such a great era for people writing these sorts of books. Most people are online and setting up interviews is easier than ever.

Like when I get ready to write the definitive book on the history of Superman and Lois in about ten to fifteen years…

Saw this and the first thing I thought was, “When did Andreas Katsulas play Bizarro?”

One of my pet peeves when it comes to comics is when characters talk about things as if that thing isn’t established fact in their world.

This is from Cataclsym. Dick says this to Batman as if both of them were not on teams with people that are from, in some form, Atlantis.

After listening to @gregrucka.com on Word Balloon I not only downloaded a bunch of his Batman comics I’ve picked up over the years on my iPad, I decided that I wanted to revisit this as well.

It’s really the best of both worlds. Rucka’s words & Graphic Audio’s fantastic production values. 1/

It’s back…with a new mandate and an actual (some would say realistic) monthly release schedule.

Official launch happens the first Monday in October.

Special episode coming this Saturday for Batman Day!

I apparently used my mediocre photoshop skills to make this years ago and it makes me chuckle.

I can be kind of funny from time to time.

On one hand…cool.

On the other…I’m so goddam tired from the last one.

And I hope a two year turnaround is more Spider-Man 2 than Batman and Robin.

I did the DragonCon schedule thing.

It's in the app but this is more fun.
