The presidents of 200 US colleges declare:

"As leaders of America’s colleges, universities, and scholarly societies, we speak with one voice against the unprecedented government overreach and political interference now endangering American higher education."

Good!

I know I'm biased (married to the EIC and friends with lots of the team) but... 500 papers is amazing!

Imaging Neuroscience has shown what can be achieved in breaking away from for-profit publishing when you have a dedicated, capable team and a supportive scientific community. Super proud.
Excited to announce the 500th paper published by Imaging Neuroscience ! @imagingneurosci.bsky.social @mitpress.bsky.social

We've come a long way in a short time and are hugely grateful to the neuroimaging community for your support.

Hope to see lots of you at OHBM @ohbmofficial.bsky.social

Don't forget to write 2025 as
1³+2³+3³+4³+5³+6³+7³+8³+9³
(next opportunity is only in 3025)!
(Or, for the #math and #LaTeX lovers:
\begin{equation}
\sum_{n=1}^9 n^3

Look, if everyone tells me you're a great guy and I ask you to drive to school and pick up the kids and you say ok yeah sure no prob and you and come back with six raccoons from the local animal shelter while leaving my kids lost and crying on a sidewalk somewhere?

That's at least partly on you.

My colleagues are using ChatGPT to source data and plot analyses for them. I'm literally reviewing papers written this way.

Very proud of what the @imagingneurosci.bsky.social team - and the broader neuroimaging community - has achieved in such a short time. The pivot away from for-profit publishing was a risk worth taking.

Check out the 2024 paper collage!
2024 was the first full calendar year for Imaging Neuroscience @mitpress - 350 papers published.

We're proud of how the brain imaging community enthusiastically embraced open access non-profit publishing. Our aim is to be *your* journal.

1923: Banting and Best develop insulin. Banting thought it was unethical for a doctor to patent a life-saving discovery. To maximize the availability of insulin, he and Best sold the patent to the University of Toronto for $1.

I'm loving this idea of microfeminism. About how every day habit the little things can change the world. I'm especially loving the school teacher that calls the dad first. These acts are not insignificant they sometimes matter more. What is your act of micro feminism? www.npr.org/2024/12/04/g...
