Congrats to Volker Haucke, Director at the Leibniz-FMP on being awarded the Ernst Schering Prize 2025 for his pioneering work on the function of signaling lipids that control how cells respond to hormones, nutrients and messengers.
Daniel Roderer and his group revealed the first high-res structure of Fap2 from Fusobacterium nucleatum (cryo-EM/ET). Fap2 binds immune cells (TIGIT) and colorectal cancer cells (Gal-GalNAc), showing how Fusobacteria colonize tumors and escape the immune system.
