Last year on my birthday we rescued this skinny but sweet tabby cat. It took some patience for the other two to embrace their new brother but a year later, Toby is a comfortable happy boy & all three sleep with us every night. Deep rumbly purrs, Toby, & happy adoption day 😻

Here are our Purr Queens, Lilliput & Esmeralda. Lilli, my constant companion, had a slow growing cancer that stopped responding to treatment; the day after she died Esmé suddenly took sick and died a few days later, Nov 20. Worst thanksgiving we ever had, missing these two friends. Still miss them.

I was at a conference in the Netherlands last summer that was using AI to add text on big screens as the speaker presented. I don’t recall what the speaker was saying but I’m positive it wasn’t “Yao am I van Yao pom?”

We’re having thunderstorms that startle cats into weird shapes.

My mom was a big fan of Longfellow so maybe that’s where she got it. I have her copy of collected works where she’s written inside, “This book was presented to me by my dear Uncle Cornelius in 1933 as a gift.”

Five months ago when we resurrected Toby, the tabby on the left, I thought this day would never happen.
Toby, a tabby cat, lies peacefully on a window seat pillow next to Noodle, an orange tabby. They are curled up within inches of each other. There’s an open window behind them that’s out of the frame.

Here are two of my three. We rescued the one on the right only 5 months ago & we never thought these two would get along!
An orange tabby & a brown-striped tabby sit next to each other on the sill of an open window. They are intently watching birds. Both tails are curled in the same way. Just a few short months ago they couldn’t even be in the same room!

Our three boys, Noodle, Tip, and Toby!
Noodle, our orange menace, loves to lick my hands while I try to work on my computer. This photo is a close up of his face as he dutifully washes my hand. Tip, our gray & white boss cat, sits in a round perch on the cat tree that he just kicked poor Noodle out of. Tip is usually easy going but no one messes with him. Toby is our new boy. He is a tabby with clean white socks who likes to cram himself into boxes that are too small as he is doing in this photo. His back leg is sticking out so you can see his white knee sock very clearly.
