Eternal student of science. Amateur nature photographer and hopeful future ecologist with special interests in beavers and river life. We've got to start realising nature is the landlord, not the tenant.
I think what you've got to love the most about passing on these gargantuan costs to consumers. The fact that there are several opportunities for accumulation (as this graphic from the BBC demonstrates). Wow! Nothing screams patriotism like untenable, crippling debt! @waltermasterson.bsky.social I have NO idea where you're getting this information about George Santos' mother! If only there was a way to fact check! 👀 I mean if any of this is wrong I'm sure he's gonna make BANK! While suing ALL the MANY media outlets that report it. 🙃 I wonder how that's going!

Lol this is why I'm a big fan of Eristalis tenax hoverflies. Right little posers! 💅 Also since you like cows I've included a couple of inquisitive cow pics.

M. bovis can survive in slurry for up to six months (Scanlon & Quinn, 2000), yet the government ignores evidence that TB spreads mostly between cattle. It’s heartbreaking to see badgers culled unnecessarily especially after witnessing the fantastic @badgertrust.bsky.social vaccination program.

Oh wow! Is it a Syrphrid? I've only ever come across these ones in the UK (Volucella zonaria, inanis and pellucens) I can't wait to see more 🥰 #Hoverfly #Flowerfly

Chippenham today. Though it can't compare to the floods of Spain & hurricanes in the USA it's still devastating to people & wildlife. Climate protestors are given prison sentences for blocking roads... Who gets a prison sentence for destructive road blocking rampant climate change? #StormBert

#Beavers have been known to slow the flow of flooding as well as filtering pollutants out of our rivers. A study in North America showed without a beaver dam, water took 4 hours to pass through. On the same stretch of river WITH a dam it took 11 DAYS! (Müller-Schwarze, D., and L. Sun, 2003)

I'm lucky enough to volunteer for @healrewilding at their founding site in Somerset. Since its inception Heal has boosted biodiversity, created community, offered learning opportunities, hosted terrific wildlife tours & a 2 day gathering—all while regenerating the landscape for future generations.
