Why do people do this? I was followed by this account, along with almost 6,000 others. Nobody seems particularly interested in following them back, probably because they have zero posts of their own – just some reposts.

One of the few things I miss from Xitter is soft block.

I bought a package of Swiss Miss cocoa mix, and when I opened the package, this is what I found. It's only a bit over half full. Cereal boxes seem as tall and broad as they used to be—but looked at from the side or the top, they're extremely narrow. Deliberately deceptive packaging makes me so mad 😡

Even just chilly and damp for me!

Many Americans refer to Thanksgiving jokingly as "Turkey Day" because what could be more important than eating a big dinner? At this time of year, the iconic way little nursery school kids are taught to draw a turkey is by tracing around their open hand. Someone took that to the next level:

Something to think about as I wish Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate

It's not too late if you haven't eaten dinner yet!

This comment on a NYT article about Trump's health makes a good point:

Elon Musk’s Grok chatbot ranks him as world history’s greatest human

www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...

Malignant narcissist Elon Musk got caught having his AI programmed to fawn over him. Wait and see, the other famous malignant narcissist we all know is going to have his own AI in …2…1… 🙄

They sure are! I grew up with this big boy in the house, and used it often because when I asked my parents a question about a word, I was told "Don't ask me, go look it up!"

It lived on top of the cabinet the Britannica set came with, so it didn't have to be carried somewhere to use it—too heavy!

What's wrong with this picture, Amazon?

(Hint: Do the math. You don't even need a calculator.)

Not a big difference, but I wonder how many people buy the set thinking they're getting a bargain!

(Extra free hint: Always check unit prices—eg, a big pkg of Ziplocs is more per bag than a small one)

So much gold in the Epstein emails, even aside from the worst material.

But Trump has to depend on someone to read excerpts to him, and it's unlikely anyone's going to tell him about comments like this one:

What a lovely kitty! I miss mine so much 😢. When my last cat died I didn't get another because of my disabilities and the possibility that I might need to be in the hospital. It's the first time in my entire adult life I don't have any cats. These are my last two.

Send the money directly to the people so they can purchase their own healthcare.

Yep, because we'll save so much on not having to pay insurance premiums that we'll be able to easily pay for joint replacements and cancer care if we need it. 🙇‍♀️

The confusion about the "wrapped in the flag" version being attributed to Sinclair Lewis may possibly have resulted from the "wrapped in the American flag" phrase in this excerpt from the Afterword of "It Can't Happen Here" (the Afterword was not written by Lewis):

For debunking purposes, I also found this, which I posted as a reply to the nincompoop above:

Nope. Nope. Nope.

It was driving me nuts! I eventually dredged up the een sound, but the first half wouldn't come. I finally thought to google this:
song title girl's name ending in sound of een

But I shouldn't have bothered with song titles, just names – halfway down the page was this. Now I'm stuck with that👂🪱!

Still another reason for Cheney to rot in hell.

If your state, city or jurisdiction of any size is holding an election today, make sure you
🔹V*O*T*E🔹

And vote blue to save our democracy. It has cracks and spalls now, but it can still be saved if everyone does their part.

Did you all (in the US) remember the time change last night! Don't show up somewhere an hour early!

As a night owl I don't care what time the sun rises – I am losing an hour of daylight in the afternoon just when the days are shortest anyway! 😠
November 2, 2025 at 1:06 PM
Even if all your clocks are web connected and you don't have to physically turn anything back, don't forget that the time will be changing tonight. And if you need to set an alarm for something, enjoy the extra hour of sleep!

So, we just had an earthquake here!!

I was sitting on my bed about to take my shoes off, and felt a hard BUMP! It was mainly sideways rather than vertical, so I knew it was an earthquake. Checked my watch, then went to USGS and…yep, it was.

Always report a possible quake–search "Did You Feel It".

His plans for being President for Life get clearer and clearer. He's not thinking of anyone else's inauguration—he's planning for his third.

If there's an election at all in 2028, it will only be after he declares some kind of emergency and gets SCOTUS to approve a 3rd term. We can only hope for 😵
