I’d prefer no Martone but if you tell me I can have Martone or Hughes, I’m taking Hughes.

I mean Quinn Hughes would go way beyond a deep playoff run this year

The Flyers absolutely CAN do all those things you say they can’t. They are the perfect match for a deal like this because they have too many good young wingers and dmen. and lack top-end talent. Plus an extra 1st rd pick. They can deal Foerster/Martone, York/Drysdale, and a 1st and still be loaded.

Very well done article

Martone ain’t off the table for me. You put Porter Martone, Tyson Foerster, and Quinn Hughes on the table and I can only have two of the three, every day of the week Hughes is one of the ones I’m taking.

Isn’t this what’s illegal in cycling?

I believe he’ll be a good player for another 5 yrs. My bigger concerns are a) the delta between him and someone else at DH may not justify that kind of AAV, and b) his playoff performances the past 3 years (yes including the ARZ series when he started hot then went cold) definitely don’t justify it.

Ding ding ding. The Nola contract is shaping up to potentially blow all the rest away.
December 5, 2025 at 3:10 PM
Just an absurd take. Bryce has been underpaid for most of the contract so far and even 2025 Bryce was absolutely still a $27mil/yr player.

David Bell helped bring Thome and he wasn’t a terrible player himself

After reading the article, glad to see we agree!

Danny Tartabull also deserves honorable mention.

Ryan Howard and it’s not even close.

I watched it six times before I could figure out where he came from. Kept seeing two other guys chasing and Maxey just materializing out of thin air.

(Not a critique, I’m saying it’s wild that there was too much crazy shit in the last 15 seconds to even cover it all)
December 5, 2025 at 2:48 AM
Didn’t even mention two successful coaches challenges and two VJ steals in the last 15 seconds. Wild.
