For Lyla and Tahla, I think it would've taken them much longer if they'd met like far into post-StB instead of whatever vague pre-StB time they met, because post-StB era Lyla was an extra wreck

They finally shut up after the last boss fight. They discover a huge garden sheltering a Great Elemental that communicates via the butterflies there (and this Elemental likes Lyla, unlike those outside)

After finding a massive colony in the Lost City of Amdapor, Lyla helped reintroduce certain morpho butterflies to parts of the Shroud where they had gone extinct due to the War of the Magi

Her esteems sprang from tumult and don't judge well, especially not in HW and StB. For all their recklessness, Fray is very guarded but Myste is too trusting

Feeling deeply, especially when paired with her abilities, is a huge part of why Lyla distances herself. She second-guesses herself because she insulates herself against others' emotions, then feels like she's paying too much attention or too little

They can control when their extrasensory abilities clash to an extent (& clash isn't the right word but it's what they pick). Talking through what they're feeling feels like it helps a bit, but there's a point where words fail. Lyla reaches it pretty fast after asking why his heart's beating so fast

Estinien doesn't care, but he can tell from her body language that she doesn't want to be there, he knows she distrusts Aymeric, she's irritated by Alphinaud, etc
but she cleared Snowcloak and beat Iceheart, and the Eye stirs enough in her presence that he can't ignore it in his assessment of her

Yes, and Lyla noticed the necklace right away and got intensely bad vibes from it
but she psyched herself out of investigating, as she was trying to suppress and hide how stressed out she was and she thought Thancred distancing himself from her was him also fleeing great stress

Limited exclusivity isn't her default. She compares love to candles for simplicity. If you lit one w/ the flame of another, even if the candles vary, you don't suddenly have less fire or candles. The idea of a finite amount you can give is very weird & restrictive to her
