Caverna Generosa is a renowned Late Pleistocene cave of the Italian Alps which yielded 9 Mousterian stone tools and houndreds of fossils of ice age mammals, in particular of cave bears (for this reason the cave is also known as "Grotta dell'Orso" literally "Bear's Cave").

Straight from the source even. That guy, who promptly deleted the post, is his representative in Italy who is also in touch with our government made by members of the "ex-fascist" party. It's exactly what it looked like.

An introduction for the people that started follow this account! I am a senior researcher and a Marie Curie fellow specialized in Vertebrate Paleontology. I study mostly Quaternary mammals (below I am working with a sample to try to extract fossil DNA) and I also paint from time to time!

The artwork I made to promote the paper on Aragonictis araid, a Miocene mustelid found in the Aragon region and described by colleagues and friends from @unizar, is on the cover of the latest issue of Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology!

Found the initial sketches of my fossil wolf illustration. My drawing and painting process is really messy but having a solid idea of the composition from the very beginning, immensely simplify the work later on.

I'm not always 100% satisfied with the results of my work, but I'm really pleased with how the illustration I created to promote our work of the fossil wolf from Rome looks like on @SapienzaRoma website!

Our latest work on the discovery of the fossil belonging to the first wolf (Canis lupus) of Europe is online on Scientific Reports and so it is the illustration I worked on for the press release!

It is online our latest work on the fossil bear remains from the Middle Pleistocene locality of Fontana Ranuccio (Anagni, Italy) where we review material of Ursus deningeri and of some specimens we couldn't ascribe to this species with certainty

A fossil "vampire deer" (Procervulus) skeletal drawing I've been working on for fun. Nothing fancy or terribly rigorous as some parts are based on modern muntjacs anatomy adapted to match information I've discussed with researchers in Spain.
