A motorcycle crash. A video game twist. A legendary writer. And the fear of my identity.

I went out that night just to count the stars.
Instead, I found a voice in the forest.

The Counting: the first short story, a republished translation, on my newly reborn fiction blog.

Stories are home. And today, I’m opening mine.

Day 10 - June, 9th

Quest: BUILD MY TINY GAME ENGINE

Yes, I am still alive, just had a lot of going on in the last few days.
I know it is not much, but yeah my first "helo world" using Vulkan and GLFW.

You can follow Knogler (engine's name) open development here:

Day 4 (yesterday)

Quest: BUILD MY TINY GAME ENGINE

Yeah I had a shitty day at my job and was without power (thanks Power company) for half of the day, so did not get much done. Just started reading two more books in parallel and advanced a bit into GEA.

Day 1

Quest: BUILD MY TINY GAME ENGINE

I am going to kick this off by doing something our ancestors did 100 years ago.

By reading a book.
And oh boy, this is a long one.
1221 pages.

So after my profound and astonishing failure in making a jam game by myself in 10 days because I struggled to understand Unity, and also being bashed for saying that although I am a software developer I still just don't get how coding in Unity works, I am going to do what any sane person would:

Unity makes no sense to me.

I’ve been a software developer for at least 7 years. 15 years in tech. I understand how systems work—frontend, backend, databases, infrastructure. I’ve worked with C++, JS, Python, Java, C#, and frameworks like Rails, SvelteKit, Spring, etc.

I felt personally attacked
ah I see you're making a run based "rougelike" video game! what are you planning to do to avoid having to spend time balancing it, shoehorn in some asynchronous multiplayer or add incremental permanent progression?

This is it. I am joining a game jam as a solo developer for the first time.
Pixel Game Jam 2025, here I go.

Theme: From the Dead. I have 9 days to create a complete game.

My engine of choice is Godot. Do I know Godot? No.

Am I terrible at art? Yes. Will I fail? Very likely. Do I care? Also yes.

@zicklag.dev Hey Zicklag, your post on SvelteKit Github about subdomains and custom domains was extremely useful. However, I am still struggling with the DNS part. Any resources you could point me to figure this out? Currently the app is on a VPS managed through Coolify (Caddy + Taerfik)

🏋️ I trained CrossFit more than 1,000 times.
And somehow I got worse — until I realized I was playing the wrong game.

This chronicle shows how game design is making me a better athlete and how CrossFit is helping me grow as a game designer.

Today marks the day I am publicly kickstarting very important steps (I have been working on stealth mode but no more)

- I am bootstrapping / indie hacking solutions for writers with special attention to writers in games;

- More content on writing and narrative design

🔥What is the price of starting things?
The price of igniting an aspiration is the possibility of burning out a dream.

What happens when the ignition fails?
📰 I am trying to answer this question in my new newsletter's first post.
