AOC would beat the tar out of Schumer in a primary battle, but that's (possibly) in 2028. It would be great if the Democrats pick a new Senate minority leader by next year.

It is not difficult to understand Trump's shifting positions. Even when he was still cognizant, Trump's decisions were impulsive. Nowadays he is nodding off during WH meetings, hardly aware of the world. Vought, Rubio, Miller, Hegseth, perhaps a few more, are taking turns in the driver's seat.

I quit the Washington Post after the last election because I couldn't stand their coverage or their opinions any more. I now have a subscription to the Philly Inquirer @inquirer.com . Very happy with them too.
