Discernment is key. There are posts that are saying that it is a national hotline for mental health (for everyone), that it is replacing 9-8-8, and that is not true.

As in my original post, I did not say it was a national suicide hotline; I specified it is a resource for the lgbtq+ community. I am not going to split hairs on whether someone is trans, NB, 2S, etc.

Ah, so you are concerned that by sharing this number, the call center will be flooded with all members of LGBTQ+, instead of solely Trans-identifying individuals? We are both wanting humans to be safe and have access to resources; I'm not going to split hairs on whether someone is trans, NB, 2S,etc.

The phone number in my post and the phone number in the link you are posting are the same.

I didn't say anything about Canada opening up an independent organization. My original post is a safe and free telephone number for Trans-individuals in the US to call for support and resources, and it is run in Canada, where there is no risk of it being shut down or limited.

I'm asking genuinely.

May I ask how it's misinformation or hurting the trans community, when the number is the same as the one listed on the site you posted, and toll-free numbers are free for all North Americans, regardless if they are in Canada or the US?

I doubt it's the yelling-most likely the states most impacted by Canadians' refusal to support American products/companies/tourism.

Not an American, so forgive the ignorance - is there not a way for one to be forced? An empty seat means one should be filled; it shouldn't be about picking and choosing when.
