Third, this is the same strategy Trump has used his entire life, one he learned from his mentor, disgraced and disbarred mob lawyer Roy Cohn. Double down, triple down on your position, never stop attacking, and muddy the public relations water so your enemy can’t claim he moral high ground.

Second, by starting a DOJ investigation, the release of the files can be delayed no matter what Congress does based on an “ongoing investigation.”

A couple things. First, the announcement of an investigation is all Trump wants. That’s all he needs to smear his enemies. It’s the same thing he asked of Zelensky in 2019 that got him impeached the first time. Just *announce* an investigation into Biden. Whether it really happens? He doesn’t care.

A clue can be positive evidence or it can be the absence of evidence where you’d expect to find some. Trump was “the dog that didn’t bark” because—at the very least—he knew full well what Epstein was doing, but said nothing to anyone.

Trump also said the other day he was going to stop talking about affordability because, according to him, he has single-handedly solved the problem of high prices. He asserts that gas is down to almost $2 a gallon. (The nationwide average is, in fact, $3.08.)
