Whale oil being ~$11k/gal, the sub stuck with talc. So Itek received the shutter delivery, disassembled and cleaned them. Then added 1 drop of whale oil per, before reassembly.

Then they were left with ~$10k of leftover oil to find a use for, or a customer.

DoD acquisition is fun, isn't it?

One benefit of a press fit or a glued joint is that it acts as a sacrificial lamb, like a shear bolt. If you over-torque the tool, it just slips instead of breaking a metal part.

But there are other ways to do that. Especially with firmware on the BLDC driver. This is just lazy design work.

Logitech no longer lets you customize buttons, and barely acknowledges it's existence. Thanks to Linux and Solaar, this mouse will get paired with the new receiver and live to see another day!

Logitech isn't getting money for a replacement, and at this point it's based entirely on principle.

Waiting for the rack mount option for now, personally. But I can say that I have confidence in the product you're building. For nerds, by nerds. No marketing department overstepping their bounds. I think all of us know that whatever you put your time into producing, it will be worthwhile.
