It’s been a beautiful long hot summer in Ireland, perfect for my own training at bluewater dojo. As an older karate Ka my joints can be bothersome in winter so it’s been great to take advantage of the warm weather and train every day. As the saying goes ‘use it or lose it’

If you take up a martial art, be it a modern art such as MMA or kick-boxing or whatever, it’s important to look long term, it’s all well and good practicing an art that requires athleticism but ability fades as you get older, first thing you’ll notice is your stamina beginning to fade .. (1 of 3)..

Years ago I decided to leave chalk board messages for students entering the dojo, at first it served as a reminder for important dates, events etc,later it progressed to more important aspects of training such as cultivating the mind & spirit for the balanced warrior, now it’s a permanent fixture!🙇♂️
