In Aug 2022 we created these scrapes in Worcestershire yesterday we saw the benefits, with Great White, Cattle and Little Egret all present, together with Common and 15 Jack snipe. We ringed 3 Jacks. Brilliant to see them mature, even better a very pleased farmer Jake #birdringing #thermalbirding

Blackbird recovery: one of the team have re-trapped a Male Blackbird on 09/01/2025 in North Staffs, adding colour ring AAJ, however this bird was originally ringed in their garden on 20/01/2018, making him 8 years old. The oldest @btobirds.bsky.social record is 15 years 2 months & 5 days.

A busy week monitoring Nightjar on Cannock Chase, huge thanks to Nathan from @StaffordshireCC for his help, the Cannock Chase rangers have been awesome this season. 6 new Nightjar ringed in last few days. Can you spot the nightjar from our drone pic? How many do you see?
