Bonus find! Googling a tiny snippet of visible text turned up one more criminalized zine: TOWARD THE QUEEREST INSURRECTION, a 2014 essay that later appeared in Contagion Press' book BE GAY DO CRIME (stocked by our bookstore). Risk corruption and read it at theanarchistlibrary.org/library/mary...

The point isn't that these materials aren't a threat to an authoritarian regime—they are! But they're also widely available pieces of writing you can likely find in any punk house, activist space, or bookstore. The criminalization of their possession is a criminalization of all dissent.

Finally, barely visible in the prosecution's photos is FOR THE LOVE OF WINNING: AN OPEN LETTER TO EXTINCTION REBELLION by activist John Jordan. @naomiaklein.bsky.social called this essay "an extraordinary piece of writing, filled with love and wisdom." Give it a read! illwill.com/print/for-th... 7/

The last of the contraband zines highlighted by the prosecutor is WAR IN THE STREETS: TACTICAL LESSONS FROM THE GLOBAL CIVIL WAR, which collects post-Occupy Wall Street essays on protest tactics. You can read this one at illwill.com/print/war-in... (it gets 4 stars on Goodreads!) 6/

Next up, IT'S VACANT, TAKE IT! is a zine from Homes not Jails, a San Francisco activist group that's been around since 1992 and advocates for squatting abandoned properties. Grab a copy and give it a look at www.sproutdistro.com/catalog/zine... 5/

Prosecutors also chose to highlight ANOTHER CRITIQUE OF INSURRECTIONALISM, a zine published in Barcelona in 2014. This essay problematizes a set of practices and attitudes in the insurrectionalist milieu—but hey, it's got insurrection in the title! www.sproutdistro.com/catalog/zine... 4/

And speaking of EF! we see a copy of THE EARTH FIRST! JOURNAL Vol 37 No 1 (2017), which features reflections on Standing Rock and the #NoDAPL movement, and a reportback from the #ResistJ20 protests. It doesn't appear to be online, but you can read lots of other material at earthfirstjournal.news 3/

We'll start with INSURRECTIONARY ANARCHY since prosecutors seem to want it to draw our attention. This is a widely read 2003 essay published by DO OR DIE, the magazine of Earth First! UK. Read it for yourself at theanarchistlibrary.org/library/do-o... or listen at resonanceaudiodistro.org?p=1298 2/
