I have tried at least 4 times to see SCOWL in Portland and everything from a missed bus to a literal stroke has kept me from doing so.

Someone flew a drone over the area. It's still standing, that doesn't always mean alive but it gives me a little hope it can survive. I also want to use this comment to state what should be obvious, I am devastated for the folks there.

This beautiful Banyan tree is gone. So large and sprawling, a staple of my memory when I would see my family on Maui. Gone. It hurts. Lahaina town will never be the same.
