A little afternoon guitar playing while sipping an adult beverage. Nowhere to be til Monday, and I got sick leave to burn. Homebrew Imperial Stout, 8% abv.

A dark beer in a fat tulip shape glass. The glass is from a defunct brewery where I used to work, Brew Republic Bierwerks. The beer is an Imperial Stout, very dark and chocolatey, with a tight creamy tan color head. It is on a drink coaster that says “I drink to make people more interesting”. There is a red Snark tuner next to it. Behind is my Martin D28 from 2005. It is my daily driver and has seen some use. I found it in Japan and I feel I rescued it, as the neck needed a reset and a fret level. It was nearly unplayable.

A pleasant surprise! I don’t often go to the big box store (where shopping is a baffling experience), but saw this and grabbed 2. Super nice price for a bomber of 8.5ish% beer. This is actually brewed by Deschutes. Boozy and chocolatey and I’m going to get more. #bskybeer

I think it was $8 a bottle? Outrageous, and how can you say no? But it was an excellent gamble. I’ll need to go get more to *try* to cellar. Very tasty indeed. Brewed and bottled by Deschutes, and they were not shy about the branding considering it’s from Costco and labeled as Kirkland.

Current situation. Early voting started today in Virginia.

YES! Tre excite! Saw him solo last year at Warner Theatre in Washington DC, but this is so much more local. Hoping for more of a “Storyteller” experience. Nothing against Wolf Trap, but I couldn’t sit close enough being on the lawn. #jasonisbell #hyltonperformingarts

It is stupid hot out here. Golden Road Brewing Mango Cart, 4%abv fruited wheat beer.
On the left, a golden liquid in a short tulip glass. It is slightly hazy, and there is condensation in the outside of the glass. In the right is a yellow can, with Golden Road across the top and Mango Cart in the middle, all lettering in white. There is an umbrella over a cart, the umbrella is yellow, red, orange and blue, while the cart is a silver. The beer is inspired by the fruit drinks sold street side in Los Angeles.

Brew Day. Hazy IPA coming soon.
4 silver packets arranged around a white/black/gold packet. The silver packets are all 2 ounces of different hops- Amarillo, Simcoe, Citra, and Mosaic. The smaller packet is Verdant IPA dry ale yeast. I need to order dry yeast during the summer as anything else tends to die in transit with the heat. I’ll use wet yeast on winter brew days.

My Supro. Nov 1947 build date. My grandfather purchased it new. It was totally non-functional and already had a replacement speaker when I inherited it- he had put a car door speaker in it. Worth the money to get it fixed professionally and sounds awesome with a Tele.
Supro-Valco. Not super sure of model # but has 510-B chassis written on the label. Backside. Box is original, and quite a bit of the chassis. New Weber 8” speaker to replace the non-original that was in it. New tubes and 3 prong cord. Most of the guts are original, except what needed to be replaced to make it safe. I do have most of the original parts (aside from the speaker). Note there is NO on/off switch, it’s either plugged in or it’s not. Schematic. Built in Chicago in November 1947.

Oops I bought a guitar.
A Martin X Series OM guitar. It has a dark brown streak top. The ring is herringbone. This guitar survived a house fire and still has drywall and dust on it and in it. It plays great, as it was given a decent repair after the fire. Needs some cleaning and some fine tuning. It is pictured on the deck of my in-laws house, a light gray floor and dark wood railing. In the background is Lake Ontario. Backside of the OM guitar. It is dark streak, I believe an ebony? The neck is a ply of several layers. They are usually rough, but this one seems well played in.

Fuggly Sweater, 5.7%, Ithaca Beer Co, Ithaca NY. Dark lager brewed with ginger, cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon. No “best by” or “born on” date, but I guess this is a Christmas beer? Who cares. I can taste the ginger and cinnamon, the rest is lost…. #BskyBeer

War Horse Royal Kilt Inspector Scotch Ale, from Geneva NY. 7.1%. Pretty freakin tasty, not boozy at all. Plus also War Horse is one of those breweries that put album pairings on the can- this one calls for A Complete History by The Vaselines. #BskyBeer

Current situation.
A large black cup with the Collegetown Bagels logo and Ithaca NY. It is very good coffee, black, no adjuncts. It is on a green picnic table with a lake in the background. My view. Cayuga Lake, Ithaca NY. This picture is facing north. I am in a shady spot, enjoying the breeze, with a short grass lawn and some shoreline growth. The water is a grayish blue, the sky is partly cloudy but classic azure blue.
