OpenAI billed the new platform as a step beyond ChatGPT Enterprise as far as security. It will allow government agencies to feed "non-public, sensitive information" into OpenAI's models while operating within their own secure hosting environments, the company said. But anyone who's actually worked in BigLaw knows the real number of hours is far higher. Add in non-billable time-firm events, recruiting, training sessions, kissing butts, and endless admin—and it's not unusual for total hours worked to hit 3,000 or more. Divide that $215,000 salary by 3,000 hours, and what do you get? Around $71 an hour. That's less than a freelance graphic designer and far from the life-changing riches you imagined when you signed up for law school.
