It’s a hard life.

My absolute highlight of New Scientist Live is, of course, the insects.

This morning we met some kittens at a local animal shelter and I am thrilled to announce that Smokey and Bandit will be joining our family as soon as they’ve been neutered!

Current crochet project: a big twinkly rainbow in memory of a very dear friend
A circular piece of crochet made in a spiral fashion, where the yarn is crocheted around a tube of fairy lights. The yarn is a gradient yarn in rainbow colours. The circle is currently about 40cm across, and still growing. I have 20m of lights in total. The same crocheted rainbow circle but with the fairy lights turned on. They twinkle through the yarn.

My parents have driven to Norway in their van and now they are sending us photos of absolutely stunning scenery with captions like “today’s lunch spot”.
