A house with a horrific past. An event tears a neighbourhood apart. A few survivors try to unravel brutal deaths and disappearances. No one really believes in a human killer when there’s a space between the walls that calls their names. ARC courtesy of Penguin Random House.

Recommend.

He was 27? WTF. I was looking out the window at trees at 27.
Anyhhooo, this is really good. Yes the movie is perfect. Which is a relief given the making of it was a traumatic experience for the director and I’m guessing some others. Last 20 seconds made me cry. Only Spiels.

Possibly better than the first. Quick. Clever. Violent.

Read this in a couple of days. Moves surprisingly fast given its tendency to brood. Character driven. Dark academia vibes. Got me out of a reading slump for which I’m very grateful! Onto the next…

So anyway Porto is lovely. Architecture, food, people. Needs some serious investment though. Loads of run down and abandoned buildings/houses.

Can buy groceries without going bankrupt. 👍

It’s hilly, cardio training required.

Really like how this is done. The feel of it. The subtlety. Figured out his thing in Ep 1 but that didn’t stop me watching all of it.

Then there was this man. I mean, if we’re talking about Father’s Day. Shaped a few generations.

I wished the story was longer to spend more time with it. Spanning decades this examines the life of a clever, creative, and ambitious clothing designer and those close to her. Beautifully told with fascinating characters. Cried a bit.

A fun run around dark alleys of human nature. Toxic egos, dark academia, a hint of sci-fi. A notable timeline that worthy friendships can be short lived, and that everyone is complicated.

Dark & romantic. Fantastical story of self discovery, abuse of societal power dynamics, found family. It’s very much a don’t believe what you’re told about people you don’t know sort of story - compassionately told. I think publication is Sept 2025. (Arc from S&S.). Season of Fear by Emily Cooper.

Pretty quick read. Very well crafted storytelling around the strength of found family, choosing to understand your family, commitment, trusting yourself. It gets totally bizarre. Very funny scenes. Bit of cw so check details before reading.

Excellent.
Story, characters, style. Moving, funny, and the conversations are pitch perfect. It’s like no one is really lost, they’re just hanging out in the wrong place.
