The NIHRC has repeatedly had to fight in the courts to be able to do its job. If the Chief Commissioner can't raise rights issues in press interviews, this undermines its (statutory) public education role. This is a key GFA institution - it must not be muzzled:

In the on-going legacy debate in the UK parliament Andrew Murriston MP has just accused 'activist left liberal human rights' lawyers of trying to 'open and re-open cases that will do them in' (veterans). Is he suggesting lawyers within the Public Prosecution Service are not professional ?
