i find it frustrating how in the dearth of cis people being normal about trans people, there's a whole cottage industry of "gender-affirming" or "trans-affirming" versions of pre-existing services where they upcharge on the promise that they definitely won't be weird (they will be definitely weird).

heard someone say that calling trans women women was a "linguistic formality" and it highlights how liberal ignorance of our lives has evolved their supposed allyship into a kind of paternalistic pity in which they feel they are burdened w pretending im someone im not bc it's the "nice" thing to do
its really frustrating that "the truth matters and so does doing the right thing" is not a valid reason for supporting trans rights in mainstream discourse. rn the popular conception is that trans rights are a kind and gentle lie

Much work needs to be done to organise in the face of whats to come. 5000 people in the face of 110,000 is nowhere near enough.
