What a perfect picture of "rational madness", or mad rationality, like the classic pictures of experimentally intoxicated spiders.
This type of car centered infrastructure planning has the character of drug abuse: you need more and more booze just to feel and function normally.

Confusing: there are actually two different Snelbinder bridges! Ironically commented by @bicycledutch.bsky.social in his description of the other, much more spectacular three legged bridge over a large roundabout in Naaldwijk:

Jeg har ikke nærlæst detaljerne om ensretning af sidegader osv. It's complicated.
Jeg var ikke opmærksom på indsnævringen ved Wildersgade. Det sker pga. en højresvingsbane, måske er det den største fejl? Det ser lidt farligt ud.

Den alternative løsning var at lukke Torvegade for gennemkørende trafik ved Christianshavns Torv. En fin løsning for dig og mig, men det ville få mange konsekvenser mht. biltrafik. Især på Langebro og HCA Boul., men over hele området.
Det vi får er et kompromis.

Bilfri by: Lukkes Torvegade for biler?
Der er mange flere cykler på Christianshavns Torvegade, end stierne er beregnet til. Kommunen varsler bredere cykelstier — måske ved at lukke bilerne ude.

Forvandling af Torvegade endeligt godkendt
Omdannelsen af Torvegade er nu endeligt godkendt til anlægsstart næste år — men den er ikke færdig i 2027 som først planlagt.

Hvad er det for et løfte, @mortenkabell.bsky.social taler om? Der var forskellige ønsker. Og der var også et forslag om drastiske begrænsninger af biltrafikken. Men man valgte - med åbne øjne - en kompromisløsning, der primært går ud over busbanerne.
Bl.a. for ikke at overbelaste Langebro.

This story illustrates, that remotely controlled vehicles represent an unprecedented security threat: anybody with access (including enemy hackers) could block all traffic in any city, creating a total chaos in a minute.

(In Denmark, it is discussed to stop using chinese busses! For security.)

Looks good. Efficient and safe. And the top of the barrier is unusual, isn't it? A visual "fence", nicely decorated, to some extent shielding against the car lights. And maybe giving a little extra physical safety, from both sides.

Seeing is believing - and it might also help the average decision maker to become a little more "visionary".
This is why I have been pushing the idea of "model cities" that present the good examples, stories of change:

Freedom can also mean freedom from car dependancy.
But you need to experience it to really understand it.
That is one of the reasons why the USA would benefit immensely from a number of 'model cities': Cities, that consistently over decades transform themselves into flexible, multimodal urbanity.
