Sure but I do think that being part of the elite in Britain has historically come with some quite dubious political leanings. Not always outright fascism but certainly some views that are often extremely conservative and narrow. I don’t feel the British elite have ever truly shaken that off

I’m actually unsurprised by this. Look at who in Britain fawned over Hitler - it was the elite, the aristocracy. Until we accept that those with power in this country in the main support hard right politics, we’re never going to address the systemic problems in our country.

I see that state visit was worth every penny

Urgh, that’s the BBC sunk then. How are they going to fight that sort of litigation?! We’re seeing a new type of warfare from a supposed ally!

Should read:

Farage says small business owners who thought Brexit would cut regulation have been betrayed - by charlatans like himself who spearheaded their betrayal.

Fixed it.

If they tinkered then the right wing press would have accused them of political interference (rightly because no government should be able to fill up board places with their own picks in a national broadcaster).

Also, because I haven’t said it - I love your work. I’ve been thinking all the same things this last week watching the attacks on the BBC ramp up from very specific camps and totally agree this feels orchestrated- which is why I think of Paul Marshall

I’m personally wondering if Paul Marshall is involved in all of this. Worth considering.

I just don’t have TikTok or X 😂 my life is so much better for it. I’m so glad I don’t have to navigate those cesspits

Seeing so many posts about who “Starmer and Nandy” will appoint as director general. Easy mistake but the government does not appoint the director general! The BBC board, whose members are appointed for rolling terms by the culture secretary, appoints the director general.
