IQ is a measure of how good you are at IQ tests, which is something informed by how familiar you are with taking academic tests (& thus the quality of your school, which is in part determined by your parents' wealth, etc). there's nothing in particular that makes them a good test of intelligence

Okay I've seen this going around and I know the colloquial understanding is "obscure bit of trivia" but I've been thinking about what it means for knowledge to be useless.
the coolest gift i got for my birthday was this former rental copy of bust a move '99 for nintendo 64, which belonged to a video store that appears to have started as a film processing spot and went under before it could have an online footprint. what a relic!
