That sounds horrific. I'm quite untrusting of the medical fields opinion just due to how many doctors I have had to educate in my own transition. Were they lying to you about test results to change your prescriptions or something?

Absolutely. I've just started climbing out of it, everything is still horrible, but I'm reading again and getting more active and moving away from just vegging on the couch. It's small steps, but I do feel some of that old joy returning bit by bit. I hope you can find whatever that is for you!

Amazing take! We need solidarity in many ways, amongst trans folks, the overall queer community, and just as freaking humans. The world sucks and helping people meaningfully should be at the forefront.

I try to be reciprocal with the energy I give relationships. People's energy obviously ebbs and flows, but after months of doing the vast majority of reaching out, trying to involve them in my life and just getting nothing back is heartbreaking.

I had 1 person reach out over the trans military ban and ask how I (a veteran) was feeling about it. They were queer. Only a few people have reached out on their own to tell me they hope I am doing ok. All of those people are queer. FFS the only people who even text me without prompting are queer.

At this point I would disagree on your final point. Even if right wingers aren't actively advocating for horrific things, they aren't standing up against it in any meaningful way, and the voters keep sending hateful bigots to statehouses and congress.

If it ends up being decent and keeping the more repugnant (right wing) hate in check then hopefully it ends Reddit. Need something that isn't full of concern troll fascists anytime you venture into a semi-mainstream sub.

There was a club I joined in High School that had new members dress up as decided by existing members of the club and then we would get paraded around as our "initiation". They had me dress up as a majorette, full on sequins, tiny skirt, the full deal. They knew who I was 😅
