“Light Melts Ice”, 24x24. Acrylic on canvas. Trying to express reactions to our current state of affairs. I want to be hopeful yet very aware of where we are. These are crude and I will probably continue on this after it dries. But it felt good to let anger and outrage flow.

Lynn Courtlandt Hastings (born in Denver, CO 1942) is an American artist whose work is distinguished by a masterful blend of surrealism and the vibrant energy of pop art.
Although biographical details about her are relatively scarce—primarily documented by institutions such as the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago—her artistic output testifies to her vision and lasting influence on contemporary art.
