i loved the songs and felt the story was lackluster as well, but i don’t think it had to do with the writers… amazon only signing them for a handful of short episodes was a bad decision.

it’s 100% meant to be a homophone in the lyrics. vox also says “make hell great again,” anything to keep people from sympathizing with the villain.

gotta blame the reduced episodes per season model that streaming services have pushed. i miss when shows were 20+ episodes full of filler lol.
